Marketing Assistant & Front Desk Associate



VRTU is a Muay Thai and fitness studio located in midtown Toronto. We are looking to hire a Marketing Assistant & Front Desk Associate with a high level of dedication and reliability, who can perform multiple tasks in a busy environment. The ideal candidate would have a strong passion for customer service, be independently motivated, creatively inclined, and have an interest in the fitness industry. In addition to working front desk shifts, they will be responsible for assisting social media and marketing efforts for the gym.

Duties and Responsibilities



Front Desk Associate

Enthusiastically greets members and guests, creating a friendly positive entrance and departure to and from the gym. Provides security and control of the front door and retail area of the facility. Personally checks each member into the gym using the proper check-in procedures. Assists with sales of membership, equipment, and personal training, in line with sales goals and targets Monitor check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notify Management. Answers phone in a professional and courteous manner. Responsible for following up on telephone inquiries and responding to voicemails. Responsible for lead management, tracking sales notes, and following up with potential leads or missing clients Responds immediately to member requests, inquiries and concerns via email. Maintains neat appearance and wears proper uniform attire. Cleans and maintains the front desk area according to VRTU standards. Follows proper opening and closing procedures. Other duties as assigned: to include but not limited to event support, inventory management, and other administrative tasks.

Social Media & Marketing Assistant

Reports to the Marketing Coordinator to ensure all marketing and social media efforts are being carried out in a timely manner Manages social media accounts by following Posting Standards, and engages on all posts, and respond to customer comments and questions. Actively creates content for FB, Instagram, and TikTok accounts (posts, reels, stories, etc); collects pictures and videos at the gym to use for content Actively encourages online followers to try a class, sending them appropriate links Increases new followers with cold outreach; actively seeks collab opportunities with B2B partners or influencers Ensures VRTU's merchandising and promotional displays on par with brand standards Assists with marketing calendar, and ensures posts and captions are prepped for approval in a timely manner. Designs content for social media, email blasts, posters, flyers, and other advertising needs using Canva; updates website as needed Other duties as assigned

Qualifications



1-2 year post-secondary experience in a related-field (i.e. marketing, graphic design, etc) 1-2 years working experience in a customer service / sales environment Experience working with FB / Instagram ads, and Google adwords Knowledge of Canva and video editing software is mandatory. Photoshop and/or Illustrator are an asset. Ability to effectively communicate verbally, and in writing, with both staff and members is a must. Excellent customer service skills are required. Sales experience is an asset. Understanding of basic cash processing procedures is required. Functional computer skills are required (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive Platform) Ability to multitask. Knowledge of Mindbody software is an asset.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
