Job Description

In Sechelt, British Columbia, the Community Action Team (CAT) is a dedicated local group focused on combatting the overdose crisis and providing essential support to individuals who use drugs. The Sechelt CAT is part of a larger, coordinated initiative aimed at offering comprehensive services and resources for individuals and families grappling with mental health and substance use challenges. This teamwork fosters a collaborative environment that prioritizes harm reduction, advocacy, and community empowerment. The Marketing Media Coordinator is essential to advancing this mission by strategically developing and executing marketing initiatives designed to raise awareness of both the CAT's goals and the overarching objectives of the organization. By leveraging expertise in social media management, graphic design, and digital marketing, the coordinator aims to reach a broader audience, effectively promote community events, and engage local residents in meaningful ways.

Key Responsibilities:



- Work closely with the CAT and organizational team to devise and implement targeted marketing strategies that reflect the organization's mission and resonate with the needs of the community.

- Create, curate, and manage compelling content across various social media platforms--such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook--to highlight the organization's initiatives, inform the public about events, and share valuable resources.

- Employ established style guidelines to ensure consistent and cohesive branding across all social media channels, reinforcing the organization's identity.

- Design and produce captivating graphics and engaging captions for social media posts, aiming to enhance visibility, interaction, and awareness surrounding the substance use crisis and available support services.

- Develop eye-catching promotional materials, including posters, brochures, and flyers, for events, campaigns, and educational initiatives to effectively communicate resources and support systems.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to formulate a detailed marketing plan that outlines clear objectives, target audiences, and assessments for tracking success.

- Create visually appealing graphics for newsletters that align with the organization's branding, ensuring that content is presented in an engaging and professional manner.

- Produce and post engaging TikTok videos that capture the attention of a younger audience, creatively promoting awareness of the organization's efforts and initiatives.

- Enhance the existing logos and promotional merchandise that authentically reflect the organization's brand identity, ensuring that all materials resonate with the values of the community.

- Regularly update the organization's social media Linktree with current and relevant information, including links to resources, event details, and mental health support services, aiming to provide the community with easy access to vital information.

Job Type: Part-time
