Handcrafted in small quantities, Privato offers among the best of BC in small-lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Woodward Cider Co is a rapidly growing craft cider company owned by the three Woodward brothers.
Position Summary:
The Marketing & Events Manager is responsible for overseeing all marketing, communications, and event initiatives for Privato Vineyard & Winery and Woodward Cider Co. This role will manage social media, digital marketing, website updates, and branding, while also leading event planning and wine club communications. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on -- able to create content, manage projects, and deliver unforgettable winery events that drive guest engagement and brand growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Brand Communication
Develop and execute annual marketing strategy aligned with business goals.
Manage and grow all social media channels.
Create and oversee design of marketing materials (signage, menus, posters, brochures, digital ads).
Maintain and update website content using
WordPress
, ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.
Plan and execute regular email campaigns, including newsletters, promotions, and wine club updates.
Support Wholesale with marketing strategies, marketing material development and partner collaboration.
Wine Club Management
Oversee all wine club communications and member engagement.
Coordinate shipments and logistics for club members.
Plan and execute wine club pickup events and exclusive member experiences.
Grow membership through marketing initiatives and customer outreach.
Utilize Commerce7 (experience an asset) for wine club and DTC management.
Event Planning & Management
Plan, coordinate, and execute winery/cidery events, including seasonal festivals, concerts, private bookings, and wine club events.
Develop event concepts and promotional campaigns to attract guests.
Manage vendor and partner relationships for events.
Oversee event logistics, staffing, budgets, and on-the-day execution.
Leadership & Collaboration
Work closely with ownership, tasting room, and production teams to ensure alignment.
Manage part-time marketing/event assistants or seasonal staff as needed.
Provide reports and insights on marketing, wine club, and event performance.
Seasonal/Off-Season Support
During slower months (Jan-Mar), assist with production-related tasks, general operations, or administrative projects.
Provide support across departments to ensure smooth winery operations year-round.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in marketing, event planning, or hospitality management (wine or beverage industry strongly preferred).
Proven experience managing social media, content creation, and digital marketing.
Strong event planning and coordination skills.
Proficiency in WordPress required.
Proficiency in Canva/Adobe Suite (or similar), and email marketing platforms.
Experience with Commerce7 is a strong asset.
Excellent writing, communication, and storytelling abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Comfortable working evenings and weekends as required for events.
Passion for wine, cider, food, and hospitality.

This is a full-time position based in our company's office located at the winery/cidery. Primarily Monday to Friday however some weekends and evenings are required.
