Position Summary

The Marketing Communications Manager will support the Corporate Director, Marketing and collaborate with other members of the Marketing Team in developing content strategy, a communications plan, and standards of narrative across the Silver Hotel Group portfolio. A creative, outside the box approach is brought to each project, differentiating our hotels from the competition. The successful candidate strategically plans the best way to deliver thoughtful and diverse content that deepens audience engagement and drives brand awareness for individual hotels, managing projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager, reviewing copywriting needs for all incoming marketing briefs and planning workdays based on established timelines.
  • Project manage marketing communications initiatives/campaigns from briefing to completion, with accountability for maintaining execution excellence, branding standards/tonality and on-time delivery.
  • Lead content development for guest-facing collateral for hotels with a focus on re-openings.
  • Identify new content opportunities, source information to support content development, coordinate and align all content to deliver a cohesive and compelling story across all communication channels.
  • Monitor, identify and establish communications on standalone hotel websites and SHG corporate website.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including processing, coding, reconciliation and tracking of hotel and departmental expenses and developing process efficiencies if and where possible.
  • In collaboration with the Corporate Director, Marketing, review messaging for the quarterly internal newsletter showcasing community, team and environmental initiatives taking place within the organization or at the hotel level.
  • Actively participate in planning/logistics, promotion and communications for the Silver Lining program and associated events/initiatives, including internal communications.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as invoice management/processing, and expense reconciliation.
  • Work with established partners and agencies as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years in an Advertising or PR agency or Marketing / Communications role. Hospitality-related experience is an asset).
  • Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns \xe2\x80\x93 and facilitating their successful execution.
  • A solid understanding of branding, communications, marketing principles and best practices.
  • Good design sense and ability to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback on creative materials.
  • System/process-minded \xe2\x80\x93 ability to embrace/adapt tools to develop efficient workflows and processes that improve quality and efficiency.
  • Understanding of the capabilities of software used by our Creative Team (ex: Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier, etc.) and Canva
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to meet exacting standards and tight deadlines.
  • Creatively minded and quick to recognize marketing opportunities within our ongoing business activities.
  • An effective problem-solver with the ability to think both analytically and creatively to effectively drive objectives and overcome obstacles.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing internal and external strategic communication plans/campaigns and corporate communications initiatives to support brand activities and reputation.
  • An engaging communicator who\xe2\x80\x99s an effective listener and able to express views clearly.
  • Well-organized and able to provide project team members with clear direction and support in meeting objectives.
  • Experience with direct reports is an asset.
