  • Generate effective campaigns and tactics to support business strategies and overall organizational awareness.
  • Drive employee engagement and a culture of belonging through enhanced information sharing and communication strategies.
  • Develop and implement an annual marketing and communications strategic plan & public relations plan to advance Vecova\xe2\x80\x99s brand and profile.
  • Communicate regularly with key internal stakeholders, identifying priorities and responding to communication and customer service needs.
  • Coordinate production of Vecova external and internal branded communication and promotion materials.
  • Oversee and coordinate the creation and publication of advertisements through appropriate media outlets.
  • Manage brand guidelines and elements, and oversee brand development.
  • Identify gaps in communication and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Serve as editor of all online tools, including social media platforms, e-newsletters, website and intranet content.
  • Collaborate with IT to optimize the use of digital communication vehicles.
  • Draft press releases and/or key messages to assist with media requirements.
  • Develop or assist with special events and fundraising activities.
  • Develop strategic relationships with media and manage media relationships.
  • Recruit, supervise, coach, and develop a high performing team.
  • Manage the communications operating budget.
  • Act as an ambassador of Vecova, assisting with events some evenings and weekends.
  • Manage and coordinate consultants and vendors for production of materials, representing Vecova\xe2\x80\x99s interest as required.
  • Conduct routine audits of Vecova\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and communications materials and activities.
  • Oversee the efficient and effective tracking, recording and archiving of all communications and public awareness related information both digital and hard copy.
  • Maintain permission requirements for all personal information used to enhance Vecova\xe2\x80\x99s image, including photos, videos, quotes and other materials for publications, web or other online communications media.
  • Establish and maintain an electronic database of consents and searchable gallery of digital resources (photos, videos, quotes, etc.).
  • Participate in specific projects or committee work as delegated and complete other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING We are looking to engage team members with diverse skills, experiences and interests. These are some of the competencies and credentials we are looking for:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferably in marketing, communications or public relations with a minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing successful marketing and communications initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, Social Media and applicable software programs.
  • Member of International Association of Business Communicators or Canadian Public Relations Society is an asset.
  • Experience with the non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of a broad range of successful communications techniques, strategies and systems.
  • Exemplary written, verbal, public presentation, and group facilitation communication skills.
  • Creative graphic design and development proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of media and community resources.
  • Ability to work independently and within a high-performance team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued personal development.

  • Effective leadership skills, including conflict resolution and problem solving.
