Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Market Assistant to join our team for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Assist customers with inquiries and purchases, share product knowledge and provide exceptional customer service at all times
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately, handle cash, debit, and credit transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer
- Maintain a clean and organized Market Booth and shop floor, clean Market Hall & washrooms
- Communicate effectively with team members and management

Qualifications:

- Prior experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members
- Cheerful and approachable personality
- Proficiency in handling cash transactions
- Passion for farmers' markets and local food
- Able to work independently

Expected Hours:

Market Assistants work at the Saturday market on a rotating schedule. Generally, you can expect 1-2 Saturday shifts per month, with additional weekday or weekend shifts depending on events/rentals and other Market needs.
