Job Summary
The Market Analyst is responsible for handling the ongoing contract and pricing management requirements of the business unit for grain and processed grain products. The incumbent works in a group environment and is flexible to workload requirements. The role ensures contract management and strategic marketing initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
Tariff and Contract Management
xc2xb7 Establish market rates for rail movements following CN Pricing process and CN Playbook
xc2xb7 Work with the Market Managers to ensure pricing data is processed on time to meet deadlines established for publications
xc2xb7 Review and manage customer contracts, and agreements or renewals for the Sales department
xc2xb7 Provide guidance to Account Managers and Accounting Representatives on customer disputes
xc2xb7 Assist in completing the strategic account plan for national customers and market strategy plans for Market Managers
Research
xc2xb7 Assess market and modal competition, costs, service requirements and equipment availability
xc2xb7 Undertake studies related to corridor pricing structure and modal competition
xc2xb7 Contribute to segment business and pricing strategies
xc2xb7 Review nature and scope of segment as well as customer requirements
Costing
xc2xb7 Improve CN's cost structure
xc2xb7 Assist the Market Manager with the creation of Price Volume Mix Division (PVMD) for major contract renewals
Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The incumbent must be flexible to workload requirements. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress.
Requirements
Experience
Marketing
xc2xb7 Between 3 to 5 years of marketing experience
o Experience in using Tableau and other data analysis tools
o Previous experience in transportation, supply chain management, agribusiness, distribution, and logistics*

Education/Certification/Designation
xc2xb7 Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Agribusiness, or equivalent
