Marina Attendant / Dockhand for Three Rivers Marinas Job Type & Pay Seasonal Job for the Summer months (12 - 20 weeks) & $14.50 - $15.80 + 4% Vacation (must be a high school student and/or planning to attend a post-secondary institution) for 40 hours weekly (full-time) Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing administrative and operational functions supporting the marina. Reports directly to the Marina Manager. & Responsibilities Performs basic maintenance of the marina facilities including: tightening bolts, installing deck boards, changing light bulbs, and painting; may perform or assists with more complex repairs such as rewiring lines, installing water pipes, and repairing broken faucets. Garbage disposal and helping with additional cleaning/labour as required by the waterfront/marinas. Monitors marina and boats for problems and safety hazards; notifies appropriate party of hazard. Dispenses fuel and completes sewage pump-outs. Collects various fees such as sales (ice, fuel, etc.) and berth rental fees, therefore, dealing with cash and transaction machines on a POS service. Setting up the music and helping with set-up/tear-down of other events as required by the waterfront. Time Management - Plans and organizes daily work routine. Estimates the expected completion time of work elements and establishes a personal schedule accordingly. Implements work activities in accordance with priorities and estimated schedules. The ability to work alone and be self-sufficient Is a must. Judgment/Decision Making \xe2\x80\x93 Ability to use logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to make appropriate decisions. Communication \xe2\x80\x93 Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas and proposals effectively so others will understand. Excellent ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented verbally or in writing. Mathematics - Ability to perform basic arithmetic applications. Physical Requirements Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Some combinations of climbing and balancing including climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Environmental Exposure Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dust, pollen, odors, temperature and weather extremes, hazardous materials, fumes, machinery, electric currents, traffic hazards, or water hazards. Additional Skills Boaters Licence, High-level swimming lessons, or experience on the waterways in Three Rivers is an asset, any previous related experience pertaining to this job, please list specific examples in your resume and/or cover letter.
