Overview

Hexagon Autonomy & Positioning is looking for a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will deliver complete manufacturing test solutions as part of our overall manufacturing process development activities within a progressive high-technology electronics manufacturing organization. You will gain exposure to both hardware and software design within a unique and interesting product line. This position requires to travel around two times per year.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

As Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing test requirements and procedures for new products
  • Creating product-specific testing software using C# and Lua languages
  • Designing product-specific test fixture hardware, including:
  • Creating schematic/wiring diagrams with Altium
  • Performing or directing PCB Layout and engaging with vendors
  • Designing Mechanical CAD parts
  • Collaborating with test fixture mechanical suppliers
  • Leading failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) for testing solutions
  • Qualifying test solution designs through measurement system analysis (MSA), gage repeatability & reproducibility (Gage R&R), statistical process capability (SPC), and control plan validation
  • Supporting prototype and pilot build testing at manufacturing locations, problem-solving with design and manufacturing teams
  • Analyzing production data to deliver data-driven reports to engineering and operations for improved product quality and yield
  • Continuously improving the test development process by recognizing, communicating, and resolving reoccurring issues
Qualifications

Must-Have:
  • Strong Portuguese (preferred) or Spanish language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong English language communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical, Computer, Software or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of related technical experience in hardware development or electronics manufacturing, including internship
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting in C#/C++ and Lua

  • Experience performing schematic capture and layout with Altium

  • Familiar with VHDL and Xilinx FPGA flow
  • Mechanical design skills
  • Comprehension of GNSS and RF technology
  • Possession of valid passport for international trevel
  • Capable of safely lifting up to 15kg (33lb)
