Responsible for the design and implementation of efficient, cost effective transformer construction processes. Ensure methods are compliant with relevant regulatory bodies such as - UL, CSA, CE, ISO; as well as local/ federal MOL and waste/hazardous programs, etc.
Manage manufacturing process capabilities to ensure availability to meet sales demand and forecast requirements.
Key Activities -
Improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing non-value added activities.
Monitor internal / external quality trends and implement improvements as required.
Review labour standards and ensure they evolve with product design.
Resolve manufacturing issues in a timely and effective manner. Ensure manufacturing adherence to standard practices, and create or modify procedures where required.
Record and maintain all process instructions (SPI and SWI). Involvement in core competency development, implementation and review.
Review production trends (including MOS, DPMO, COQ) and implement process improvements as required.
Improve and standardize existing processes through innovation and collaboration with other manufacturing locations.
Provide process training where required.
Demonstrate leadership in the development and implementation of lean initiatives.
Promote 5S throughout the organization
Qualifications -
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to be "hands on" to demonstrate processes using tools and large equipment.
Work with little supervision, highly motivated.
Experience with AutoCAD and or Solid Works would be an asset.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP software.
Background in magnetic or transformer construction would be an asset.
Basic understanding of electronic and electrical circuitry, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding processes.
