Must haves:
Hands on team lead experience
1-8 years of team lead experience within a sheet metal or plastic custom fabrication industry
Knowledge of roll formers, stamping , presses and laser turrets.
The Production Team Lead is key to supporting our team on the floor-mentoring assemblers, providing hands-on training, and keeping work organized so we hit our deadlines and quality goals. This role also helps plan and coordinate tasks, making sure everyone has what they need to do their best work. Regular quality checks ensure we meet our standards and keep improving together.
Interpreting work orders and adhering to established production protocols/specifications.
Oversees the production process, ensuring that production goals, output targets, and the company's quality standards are consistently met.
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Maintains responsibility for the work area, including ensuring all equipment, machinery, and tools are functioning properly and are securely shut down at the end of each shift (including auxiliary equipment like fans).
Ensures compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures, with a strong working knowledge of applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
Maintains a clean, hazard-free work environment and actively promotes this standard among employees.
Holds accountability for the performance and productivity of workers within the assigned production line.
Offers hands-on assistance to assembly workers as needed.
Ensures associates are properly utilizing the scanning of products in/out of the ERP system.
Oversee training of new hires (ensuring training plans are accurately completed and circling back with them to ensure they understand etc.). Assist Plant Management with Cross Training as required.
Ensuring inventory checks are completed regularly and stock does not run low
What we're looking for:
Someone with experience on the production floor and strong knowledge of our equipment and processes.
A team player who communicates well and can help lead others.
Comfortable using hand tools, reading measurements, and following production specs.
Reliable, organized, and willing to jump in when needed.
A strong technical background with the ability to read and interpret drawings is required
Prior experience in team leadership roles within custom manufacturing environment
Proficiency in English communication (both written and verbal) is necessary for understanding and conveying instructions effectively.
Proficient with basic handheld tools such as tape measure, drills, pneumatic screwdrivers etc.
Competency in reading and working with imperial measurements is required.
Familiarity with WHMIS and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards is expected.
The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
