- Afternoons Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday 2:00pm \xe2\x80\x93 10:30pm
- Shift is flexible on times for the right person.
Main Responsibilities
- Create Schedule to have reporting departments produce in alignment but with overall production schedule.
- Establish manpower requirements based on scheduling and budgetary goals.
- Drive continuous improvement through the effective use of all inventory and resources, the management of productivity and workflow, the streamlining or implementation of processes and procedures, the increase of efficiencies, and the elimination of waste.
- Communicate job expectations to all team leads, and productive personnel.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with company policy and government legislation.
- Develop and supervise a regular cleaning schedule to ensure the work areas are held to the Aspen Standard.
- Supervision of Machine Shops, Manual and CNC Lathes, Brake, Saw, Plasma Table.
- Supervision of Welding Assembly including the use of jigs and fixtures in Running Gear, General Assembly, Sub Assembly and Rails.
- Supervision of Air, Electrical, Hydraulics and Final Mechanical Assembly department.
- Supervision of Paint and Blast departments.
- Supervise Material handling team
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and use good decision-making practices.
- Excellent documentation control
- Excellent resource scheduling ability
- Ability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor in challenging situations.
- Ability to identify procedure and process improvements and advise the appropriate stakeholders.
- Requires 8-10 years of experience in heavy fabrication manufacturing. Familiar with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
- Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Previous experience supervising multi-disciplinary custom manufacturing teams.
- Experience with industrial equipment, trucks and trailers.
- Experience with an ERP or database system.
- PMP considered an asset.
- Six-sigma or other lean credentials considered an asset.
- Red-Seal Journeyman certificate considered an asset (Welding, Fitting or Machine)
- Regular exposure to industrial shop hazards which require additional protection from noise, fall hazards and air quality.
