Job Description

Sperling Industries Ltd. is an industry leader in structural steel manufacturing and mechanical equipment supply and install. We are looking for an individual to join our team as our Manufacturing Shop supervisor.

Summary:

This full-time position would start as soon as reasonably possible. This candidate would be responsible for supervising a team of approximately 15 employees as well as the operations of the production facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day operations of a custom manufacturing facility including:

o Production management and production scheduling

Learn and adapt to our internal server and demonstrate knowledge of basic computer programs

Comprehend blue prints released to production

o The adherence to all quality requirements both project specific and general company quality requirements

Complete quality control checks

Stay up to date on process improvement initiatives

o Staff scheduling and coordination

o Training, coaching, and disciplinary action for staff with assistance from management

o Oversee all safety requirements, improvements, and compliance

Monitor consumable and material inventory and work directly with purchasing on re-ordering

Work alongside the CNC lead in overall planning

Communicate effectively with all departments within SIL

Oversee routine maintenance of equipment and property and seek outside assistance as required

Education, Experience, skills:

Structural steel fabrication experience and the ability to direct a team

Previous experience material handling and following safety principles

Problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities

Must be able to read, write and speak English

Compensation:

Salary to be on an hourly basis

Overtime remunerated at 1.5x

6% vacation pay and 4% general holiday pay paid on each paycheque

We are looking to compensate with a fair and competitive wage. This will match the candidates experience, personality, education and training. Understanding this role as well as skillset and qualifications would put the right candidate in the range of $27-36$
