This Position reports to: Production Manager
As a Manufacturing Project Manager and Continuous Improvement, you will manage equipment modernization and automation projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects related to the improvement, replacement, and/or automation of production equipment. As part of your various mandates, you will be involved both in the technical execution and in the business justification of projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate equipment replacement and automation projects, ensuring cost, quality, and schedule objectives are met.
Estimate project costs and perform analyses to support project justification and approval.
Provide technical support during equipment installations and participate in system commissioning.
Coordinate project implementation and start-up activities with production and maintenance teams.
Contribute to defining the strategic vision for planning automation and equipment replacement projects.
Identify automation opportunities and conduct technology scouting to recommend the most appropriate solutions for upcoming projects.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automated Production Management (APM), or any other relevant field.
5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing project management.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, move projects forward, and manage competing priorities.
General knowledge of automated systems, robotics, PLC programming, machine safety, and other manufacturing technologies.
Knowledge of steel stamping and machining processes (an asset).
Excellent communication skills in both English and French. English is required to communicate with clients outside Quebec.
