Manufacturing Process Engineer / Technician

to join our growing team.

Position Summary



The

Manufacturing Process Engineer / Technician

will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and supporting our electric powertrain assembly operations. This hands-on position involves designing and documenting robust processes, implementing quality systems, improving assembly efficiency, and collaborating with engineering to drive continuous improvement.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Development & Documentation



Develop and standardize assembly processes for electric powertrain manufacturing. Create detailed

work instructions

,

SOPs

, and

visual aids

for production. Build

process flow diagrams

,

PFMEA

, and

control plans

to ensure repeatable quality.

Quality Systems Implementation



Design and implement in-process quality checks and inspection criteria. Develop quality documentation (inspection sheets, test procedures). Establish

SPC

(Statistical Process Control) for key process characteristics. Lead

root cause analysis

and implement corrective actions for quality issues.

Assembly Line Support



Provide daily technical support to production and troubleshoot process challenges. Design and specify

fixtures, jigs, and tooling

for optimized assembly. Improve workstation layouts for ergonomics and efficiency. Train staff on new or improved assembly procedures.

Design & Engineering Support



Collaborate with engineering on

Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

. Offer feedback to enhance design efficiency and reduce costs. Support

light design work

(CAD - Rhino or equivalent). Maintain and update technical drawings and specifications.

Continuous Improvement



Lead

kaizen

and

lean manufacturing

initiatives to boost productivity. Track and improve

KPIs

related to quality, cost, and efficiency. Identify and execute

cost reduction

and process improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications



Fluent in English and French

(spoken and written).

Bachelor's degree

in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering -- or equivalent experience.

3-5 years

experience in manufacturing or process engineering (electromechanical preferred). Proficient in

CAD

software (Rhino or similar). Familiar with

embedded firmware configuration and calibration

processes. Knowledge of

Lean Manufacturing

,

SPC

,

FMEA

, and

root cause analysis

tools. Skilled in

Excel

,

Office Suite

, and

Google Workspace

. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications



Experience with

electric motors, battery systems, or powertrain assembly

. Knowledge of

marine industry standards

and

high-voltage safety protocols

. Familiarity with

ERP/MES

and

ISO 9001

systems. Experience in

project management

or process automation.

Physical Requirements



Comfortable working on the

production floor and on boats

. Ability to lift up to

40 lbs occasionally

. Ability to

stand, walk, and bend

for extended periods.
