Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for installing equipment, performing routine maintenance, and conducting repairs on our equipment and facilities. 4x10-hour

weekly schedule, and a commitment to safety and quality.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Install, align, and assemble machinery and equipment according to specifications. Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on mechanical systems, conveyors, other equipment and facilities. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to minimize production downtime. Repair or replace defective parts and ensure equipment operates within safety and regulatory standards. Maintain and repair HVAC systems. Monitor machinery performance and address potential issues proactively. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Ensure compliance with safety and food safety regulations. Collaborate with production teams to optimize machine performance and support new installations or upgrades. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency. Assist with sourcing parts and replacing parts as needed. Ability to work flexible hours when needed

QUALIFICATIONS:



Minimum

5 years of progressive maintenance technician experience

, preferably in a food manufacturing environment (an asset). High school diploma or equivalent; Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in handling small to large equipment. Proficiency with hand and power tools, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics,

electrical

, plumbing and HVAC systems. Familiarity with food safety regulations (HACCP certification is a plus). Experience with HVAC systems is highly desirable. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor tasks. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying environments, including refrigeration.

SKILLS:



Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize task, and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures. Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

Working condition:

4x10hrs shifts weekly, with occasional on-call duties as needed. Work in a fast-paced food processing environment with exposure to varying temperatures and loud noise, and the use of personal protective equipment. Frequent standing, lifting, and tasks requiring physical agility.
