We are seeking a Manufacturing Lead to join our team on-site in Waterloo, Canada. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability, scalability, and reliability of complex systems that integrate electronics (FPGA & Analog/RF), optoelectronics (lasers, photodetectors), and optical components (fiber optics). This role requires hands-on experience with mid-volume (1,000s) manufacturing and collaboration with cross-functional teams consisting of R&D scientists and engineers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
What you'll do

  • Lead Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) efforts for enterprise-class products.
  • Work closely with R&D and production teams to optimize electronics, optoelectronics, and optical systems for manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement cost-reduction and reliability improvement strategies.
  • Manage relationships with OEMs, ODMs, and manufacturing partners to streamline production.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (Mil-Std-Class desirable).
  • Collaborate on supply chain management to optimize component sourcing and logistics.
  • Work with R&D and production teams to maintain quality control
What you'll need to get the job done
  • B.S. in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • Direct experience with mid-volume (1,000s) manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in Design-for-Manufacturability for complex systems integrating electronics, optoelectronics, and optics.
  • Ability to lead a small team and constructively work with R&D lead

  • Proficient in MIL-STD-810 standards compliance and testing.
  • Proven track record of implementing cost-reduction strategies in manufacturing.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with manufacturing partners (OEM, ODM), and managing supply chains.
