With a strong safety culture and a commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing General Foreman to support our Canadian operations.

Position Overview



The Manufacturing General Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the manufacturing workshop, ensuring work is safely executed, on schedule, and to STATS Group's quality standards. This role provides leadership to production teams, oversees resource allocation, ensures compliance with safety and QHSE procedures, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Supervision



Lead, supervise, and coordinate activities of welders, fabricators, machinists, assemblers, and general labourers. Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure shift handovers are clear and effective. Mentor employees, promote teamwork, and address performance concerns in coordination with HR and management.

Production & Planning



Ensure workflow aligns with production schedules and customer delivery deadlines. Coordinate labour, equipment, and material requirements. Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, QA/QC, and Supply Chain teams.

Quality & Compliance



Ensure all manufactured components meet STATS' quality standards, client specifications, and IMS procedures. Support QA/QC inspectors and ensure non-conformances are documented and resolved. Maintain documentation and participate in audits (ISO, COR, Client).

Health, Safety & Environment



Enforce company safety policies and Alberta OHS legislation. Conduct toolbox talks, pre-job hazard assessments, and incident reporting. Promote Stop Work Authority, safe work practices, and a strong safety culture.

Continuous Improvement



Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and shop workflow. Support training, skills development, and cross-training of staff. Participate in equipment maintenance planning and 5S/lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications & Experience



Required:



5+ years in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial operations. 2+ years in a supervisory or lead hand role. Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, machining or mechanical assembly. Knowledge of fabrication drawings, work orders, and production scheduling. Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:



Experience in pipeline fabrication, pressure equipment, or oil & gas manufacturing. Red Seal certification (Welder, Millwright, Machinist, or related trade) an asset. Knowledge of ISO 9001, COR, and QHSE systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
