Position Purpose and Objectives The Manufacturing Estimator, reporting to the Senior Manager Manufacturing, Maintenance & Project Management will be responsible for preparing estimates on true factory cost while maintaining integrity of information related to quotations and assisting the Project Manager in preparing project quotations. Estimator Responsibilities
  • Create BOM and generate work orders for Water Quality production based on sales data.
  • Prepare/review material requisition for purchase department after consultation with your Manager.
  • Review and analyze closed work orders with your Manager to ensure production margins are met.
  • Contact outside machine shops for quotes on projects that are not done in house.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to meet planned objectives, while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare estimate based on true factory cost and generate shop reports for production.
  • Provide all necessary information (machine hours, work centers, tolerances, tooling details and any other notation) to inside sales and project departments related to the estimate.
  • Maintain all estimate records for future analysis and cross references.
  • Update and develop estimating templates on regular basis to reflect the true factory cost.
  • Schedule and run PPT2 meetings when required.
  • Review machining clearance with machine shop.
  • Work with the Commercial Proposal Manager and act as a liaison with internal and external suppliers and customers to expedite related information.
  • Support the Commercial Proposal Manager and Manufacturing Project Coordinator as required.
  • Work with Process Planning to develop and modify shop reports as needed.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Senior Manager Manufacturing, Maintenance & Project Management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma in manufacturing technology.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years estimating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in custom manufacturing environment and processes.
  • Familiar with machine shop operations.

  • Notify Quality Control of nonconforming products.
  • Notify Quality Control and/or Manufacturing of drawing issues.
  • Maintain product identification and material traceability as per applicable procedures.
  • Perform in-process and/or final inspections as per applicable procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Report machine or equipment problems to the Department Manager or designate.
  • Participate in or help continuous improvement teams improve processes.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance requirements are clearly identified and completed as scheduled
