We are proud to be a part of the larger Cadre, which enhances our ability to deliver mission-critical technologies that protect lives.Position SummaryWe are currently seeking to fill two vacancies for Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team of highly skilled professionals at our plant in Pembroke, Ontario.Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the Manufacturing Engineering Specialist provides manufacturing engineering support to the production process from start to finish including creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials, updating Work Instructions and support to production for systems and software applications. In addition, the specialist is responsible for managing the implementation of new products in the Plant, supporting product transfers from other facilities and management of the PCN process, (process change notice) activities. This position manages continuous improvement initiatives including weekly and monthly reporting and tracking. This position will liaise with many departments within the Plant, as well as at other facilities on a day-to-day basis.Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilizes project management skills to organize and schedule the activities required to complete Alpha/Beta builds and low-rate introduction to Production relating to New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Responsiblefor operator certification training for NPI activities for special processes
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining standard labor times for individual operations and overall product/process cycle time.
  • Recommendsalternate manufacturing processes yielding potential cost reductions, quality enhancements, and ease of manufacture.
  • Participates in budgeting processes for new or replacement equipment, provides quotes, creates PARs, (Project Approval Requisition) and ROI\xe2\x80\x99s, (Return on Investments) reports.
  • Overseesthe implementation and validation of new equipment used for production.
  • Createsand audits \xe2\x80\x9cBills of Materials\xe2\x80\x9d within the ERP system. Performs \xe2\x80\x9cRoot Cause Analysis\xe2\x80\x99 and implements \xe2\x80\x9cCorrective Actions\xe2\x80\x99 on labor variances as well as Quality issues.
  • Communicateswith counterparts on a regular basis to maintain a liaison between the various facilities.
  • UtilizesProcess Analysis tools to devise optimal production floor layout and production flows.
  • Designsand implements work cell as required to meet production forecast demands.
  • Considerationsto tact time, cycle time, throughput and WIP are essential.
  • Investigates, implements, and validates alternate manufacturing methods/techniques, equipment and systemsfor manufacturing improvements and efficiencies.
  • Consultswith material/equipment suppliers to gather technical specifications and other relevant data.
  • Performsbenchmarking activities to obtain process knowledge and \xe2\x80\x9cbest practices\xe2\x80\x9d information.
  • Analyses production variance reports generated from the ERP system to provide insight into the variance root causes and devise corrective action plans and presents to Production and Finance on a weeklyand monthly basis.
  • Travelto other facilities to participate in global best practices review.
  • Communicateswith counterparts at other Plants on a regular basis to ensure to ensure best practices are adoptedacross facilities.
  • Supportsand assists in organization and actions for new builds and custom or nonstandard orders.
  • Providessupport to a variety of departments including but not limited to all areas of Operations, Quality, Configuration Management, Product Line, Design, Engineering, Finance and others as required.
  • Key stakeholder of the Continuous Improvement initiatives for the Manufacturing facility from start to finish including weekly and monthly report outs.
  • Involved Health and Safety committee member for inspections, improvements and initiatives.
Education/Skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in industrial/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Diploma in Automated Manufacturing is considered an asset.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Joint Health & Safety Certified
  • Certified in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS)
  • Soft Goods manufacturing environment background with experience in cutting room equipment, and marker creation software would be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ax Dynamic, Arras Innovator, Bartender and Q-Pulse software
  • Proven experience with computer-aided process modeling
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills and overall experience with Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Proven experience with International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • Proven experience with ERP systems.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and creation of production documents.
  • Ability to independently manage, organize and complete work activities to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally and work in an organized fashion with the ability to multitask, be client focused as well as be a team player.
  • Ability to describe or explain information, concepts, and relay instructions to others.
  • Competence in writing skills for the purpose of preparing clear and concise written reports.
  • Must have valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with tight deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate/interact with others at all levels professionally, effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully.
