Work You'll Do:
Implement design improvements to standard machines and accessories, focusing on enhancing functionality, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
Lead layout and process improvements across the shop floor, optimizing workflow, space utilization, and productivity.
Collaborate with planning and design teams to refine product designs and tooling for efficient production methods.
Modify and update BOMs and routers to align with current processes and standards.
Troubleshoot and address quality issues, assembly problems, welding, and machining challenges.
Support QC with NCR resolution of standard parts as needed.
Analyze workflow, equipment, and space requirements to recommend manufacturing process improvements.
Assist with the launch of new equipment, ensuring seamless integration and smooth operation.
Manage ECR processes for controlling revisions, parts phase-in/out, and rework decisions.
Design, create, and document jigs and fixtures for fabrication, machining, and assembly to improve productivity and quality.
Drive cost reduction initiatives on purchased and manufactured parts.
Update and correct drawings and BOMs to reflect current manufacturing methods and standards.
Support document revisions and drawing updates in collaboration with engineering documentation control.
Ensure SOPs and standards are current, accurate, and followed consistently.
Make informed decisions regarding alternative parts, quality, and process adjustments supporting production.
Assist purchasing with vendor source evaluations, capability reviews, and procurement specifications.
Perform other related duties to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will be an integral part of the Unifiller engineering team focused on designing and manufacturing high-quality equipment and accessories. Your role directly impacts production efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction, contributing to our mission of enabling precise and reliable food processing solutions globally.
Basic Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience in manufacturing environments involving machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Deep knowledge of pneumatic control systems.
Experience creating and interpreting engineering drawings, with familiarity with drafting standards.
Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address hardware and process issues effectively.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of lean manufacturing (Kaizen) and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with food service machinery design (asset).
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or QAD.
Knowledge of TIG welding and/or machining processes (asset).
Support experience supporting manufacturing, installation, and maintenance activities.
