Job Description

BOMImed is looking for a

Manufacturing Engineer

that will work directly with Manufacturing, Operations, and other departments to analyze data, make recommendations, and implement solutions to improve capacity, quality, and efficiency, while reducing cost and lead times.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Write documents such as equipment operation, quality inspection, and maintenance procedures. Provide training to Machine Operators and Assembly personnel. Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements. Provide technical support to the Manufacturing & Assembly teams to ensure work orders are successfully completed on time, including troubleshooting and fixing equipment. New manufacturing technology initiatives such as the design, prototyping, assembly, integration, testing, validation, and optimization of robotics/automated machinery. Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, output, and safety. Generate reports on key metrics such as efficiency, output, and waste, including analysis, root causes, and proposed solutions. Assist with new product development activities including writing requirements specifications, designing products, sourcing raw materials and components, specifying materials and manufacturing methods, and verification testing. Assist Finance in calculating accurate product cost data including material and overhead. Participate in continual improvement projects and process improvements related to plastics manufacturing, assembly, and kitting. Review and update shop floor plans, analyze workflow and material flow, make recommendations for improved efficiency. Determine suitable manufacturing methods and equipment for new products. Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Biosystems Engineering. Registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba is required. 1-4 years of experience. Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in both written and spoken English. Demonstrates initiative and ability to work both independently and with teams. Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Computer proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with or knowledge of plastics manufacturing and robotics/automated equipment is an asset. Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software is an asset.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
