What You Do




Support manufacturing projects by designing plant layouts, developing task lists, and creating standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with engineering and other departments to ensure seamless execution and integration of manufacturing processes. Lead the development of assembly and plant layout designs while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

How You Will Do It



Design product assembly lines in collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams Prepare production setups including BOMs, fabrication parts, consumables, task lists, and subassemblies Ensure compliance with Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines Participate in Joint Health and Safety Advisory (JHSA) meetings and incident investigations Collaborate with safety and structural engineering teams to design safety restraint systems Act as liaison between engineering and production, ensuring effective communication and knowledge transfer Lead construction kick-off planning, including safety, scheduling, and drawing distribution Mentor production coordinators and oversee assembly line layouts and process improvements Oversee and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) Support welding-related activities including process development, troubleshooting, and quality assurance in manufacturing operations Work with Quality Control (QC) to implement standard work procedures and resolve CARs Partner with Continuous Improvement (CI) teams on product research, design calculations, and ROI analysis Serve as project engineer for major initiatives including Factory Witness Tests and prototype testing Manage procurement, pricing, and documentation accuracy during production Coordinate with planning teams for time trials and production scheduling Ensure compliance with RFPs, engineering specs, and contracting procedures Support staff training and competency development with line supervisors Analyze data and recommend solutions to improve performance Monitor project progress and adjust resource allocation as needed Review QC reports and assist in resolving field construction issues Provide technical oversight through coordination meetings and documentation Communicate effectively across all levels via phone, email, and in-person Perform other duties as required

What We Look For




Required:

6+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering 6+ years in an engineering role with design and/or construction responsibilities Strong understanding of engineering principles Excellent verbal and presentation skills Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders Knowledge of Canadian engineering standards and relevant codes Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Experience in welding engineering, including process development and quality assurance Proficiency in mathematical methods for engineering applications Ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems Strong time and project management skills Independent judgment and decision-making ability Understanding of company policies and procedures Cost management experience Willingness to work in a shop environment with adherence to safety protocol

Preferred:



Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) from APEGA or eligibility to apply Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Demonstrated leadership capabilities
