We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Donut Time. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety within the production environment. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, new product introductions (NPI), and ensures manufacturing processes meet required specifications and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimization
Analyze current manufacturing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Project Management
Lead or support projects such as new product introduction (NPI), facility layout changes, or equipment installation.
Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Maintenance, Finance, quality, supply chain, etc.).
Equipment & Tooling
Specify, procure, and validate production equipment and tooling.
Support maintenance or upgrades to existing machinery.
Sourcing cost effective equipment for continuous improvement or recommendation of modification of existing.
Sourcing working suppliers to design and implement plans in measurable timelines.
Contractor management of information and execution.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure processes comply with industry standards and company quality systems (ISO, AS9100, FDA, etc.).
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
Ensure that machines achieve all Canadian accreditation and operation standards (ESA)
Create and update process documentation and control plans.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect and interpret production data to drive decisions.
Generate reports on KPIs on equipment and run time, look for tools to advance (MES).
Precise calculation of spend and budgetary impact.
Develop and implement improvements using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
Skills
Proficiency in Lean manufacturing methodologies.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation.
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with robotics integration in manufacturing settings.
Expertise in SolidWorks and CAD for design purposes.
Solid mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing processes.
Ability to assemble complex components with precision.
Understanding of industrial equipment operation and maintenance.
