Job Summary


Alpha Poly Corporation, a leader in innovative flexible packaging solutions, is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to optimize and support our production operations. This role focuses on process development, continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices to boost productivity, reduce waste, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities



Process Development & Optimization



Develop and refine processes for flexographic printing, lamination, slitting, and converting. Standardize parameters, work instructions, and operating conditions for efficiency and consistency. Support scale-up and implementation of new films, inks, adhesives, and packaging formats.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Support



Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, downtime, and process issues. Drive Lean initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, SMED, VSM) to improve OEE, scrap, yield, and cycle times. Partner with EHS to support safety assessments and implement engineering controls.

Quality & Compliance



Collaborate with Quality and Production teams on CAPAs and customer complaint resolution. Ensure compliance with product standards, customer requirements, and food safety regulations. Participate in audits, validations, and process capability studies.

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)



Implement TPM programs, including Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance. Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance planning in partnership with Production and Maintenance. Develop checklists, deliver training, and support condition monitoring.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related). 3-5 years' manufacturing experience; 2+ years in flexible packaging or roll-to-roll/box preferred. Strong knowledge of flexible packaging equipment (flexo presses, pouch making, slitters, laminators). Experience with Lean Manufacturing, quality tools, and process improvement. Proficiency in CAD, PLCs/control systems, and Microsoft Office. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Hands-on, detail-oriented, and safety-focused team player.
