Position Summary
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to the Operations & Engineering Manager and be a key member of the operations team - responsible for supporting a manufacturing team including assembly and test technicians. Your leadership will drive day-to-day manufacturing operations and production engineering initiatives to improve process efficiencies and maintain the ASI quality standard. You will work closely with OPS Admin, engineers from R&D and other key stakeholders to ensure production continuity, quality improvements and cost savings. The job is based in Aurora, ON. This is a full-time salary position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with voluntary overtime as needed. Travel is not required for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop, implement and optimize manufacturing processes for our assembly and test process to improve throughput, quality and cost-efficiency
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste, minimize downtime and enhance workflow
Design and refine tooling, fixtures and jigs to improve assembly and test efficiency and to reduce process variability
Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot both process and technical bottlenecks to ensure production continuity
Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends, root cause of defects and opportunities for improvement
Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing manufacturing plans, process documentation, and work instructions
Conduct time studies and capacity analysis to support production planning and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and internal quality standards through audits, documentation, and training
Drive 5S and visual management practices across the shop floor to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
Partner with design engineering to provide manufacturability feedback during product development
Act as a Quality Champion and ensure all products leaving the facility meet internal quality standards
Drive safety initiatives to ensure ASI remains a safe workplace for all employees

Qualifications (Knowledge, Experience, and Attributes)
Education/Licenses/Certification
A bachelor's degree (or master's degree) in engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial) or a related field.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum of 3 years of progressive engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience using Inventor or SolidWorks preferred
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and quality control
Ability to use a variety of metrology devices (Micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Ability to use basic electronics testing devices (Digital Multimeters, etc.)
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of ERP systems preferred
Knowledge of OHSA requirements preferred
Knowledge of ISO quality standards beneficial
