We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Engineer to join our manufacturing team, supporting production of complex electro-mechanical medical devices. This role combines troubleshooting expertise with new product introduction responsibilities, requiring both analytical problem-solving skills and practical manufacturing knowledge. The ideal candidate will thrive in a low-volume, high-complexity production environment where each device requires meticulous attention to quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Support & Troubleshooting
Lead root cause analysis for electronic and electro-mechanical failures in production
Review and interpret complex schematics, PCB layouts, and firmware source code to diagnose issues
Troubleshoot circuits, power management systems, and control interfaces
Analyze cable harness failures and connectivity issues using appropriate test equipment
Support production team with real-time problem resolution to maintain delivery schedules
Documentation & Process Development
Write and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and test protocols
Document root cause analyses and implement corrective actions
Develop knowledge base for production technicians
New Product Introduction
Support transition of new designs from R&D to manufacturing
Participate in design reviews focusing on manufacturability and testability
Assist with schematic development and firmware modifications for production optimization
Develop and validate production test fixtures and procedures
Coordinate pilot builds and first article inspections
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
1-3 years of experience in medical device, automotive, or aerospace manufacturing
Strong understanding of cable harness basics
Proficiency in schematic analysis and PCB troubleshooting
Experience with embedded systems and ability to read C/C++ firmware code
Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment
Understanding of mechanical assemblies and electro-mechanical integration
Preferred Qualifications:
IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 certification
Experience with IEC 60601 standards and medical device EMC compliance
Knowledge of control circuitry and low power electronics
Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality management systems
Experience with statistical process control and failure analysis techniques
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles

Work Environment:
Small, collaborative team environment (25-30 person company) in a specialized medical device manufacturing facility. Position requires regular interaction between engineering lab and production floor. Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs may be required when handling equipment.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
