Actalent is on the lookout for dedicated SQA and test engineers who are enthusiastic about functional testing and the automation of embedded systems. This position is a key part of our SQA division, tasked with crafting, deploying, and executing thorough test plans for our suite of IP phones, which are built on Linux and Android frameworks. The role involves overseeing test operations, interpreting results, and making strategic decisions based on the outcomes of tests. It is crucial for this role to ensure that the software delivered aligns with user expectations and adheres to industry benchmarks, achieved through active collaboration with developers, product managers, and other key players.Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a proactive team member, collaborating with development and product management to devise test strategies, and design and execute tests for our range of IP phone products.
• Conduct functional testing and automation for features and functionalities of our IP Phones, including associated Android applications.
• Delve into product feature requirements to develop test cases that address both feature specifications and customer-related issues and escalations.
• Design and set up network configurations necessary for testing features and defects, considering various call control platforms and networking devices such as switches and routers.
• Manage the administration of networking hardware like Switches, Routers, Gateways, SIP Proxies, and IP Media Servers.
• Develop automated tests utilizing REST APIs with programming languages such as Java, PERL, or Python. Evaluate designs to determine necessary test scripts, coding, automation, and integration tasks, guided by the overarching architecture of the product or solution.
• Engage in code and test case evaluations and partake in design dialogues to pinpoint potential quality concerns.
• Log defects and propose enhancements for quality in the bug tracking system, ensuring follow-through with stakeholders to complete all testing requirements.
• Assess testing procedures and recommend modifications to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of QA operations.
• Liaise with management, internal teams, and external development partners to communicate test statuses, project updates, and resolve issues.
• Represent the software quality assurance team throughout all stages of complex development initiatives.
• Offer mentorship and advice to team members with less experience.

Recommended Education & Experience:

• A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience or proven expertise.
• 3-7 years of experience in testing Voice/Video IP-based products that support protocols like SIP/H323, SDP, RTP, TCP, UDP, and \xe2\x80\x9cUnified Communications\xe2\x80\x9d applications on Android devices, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other embedded systems.
• Familiarity with the administration and testing of IP-based embedded devices, including Softswitches, Gateways, SIP Proxies, IP Media Servers, and IP Phones.
• Proficiency in setting up, configuring, and managing various VoIP call control platforms, including Asterisk, Cisco, Genband, Broadsoft, OpenSIP, and GNuGK.
• Knowledge in maintaining Firewalls, NAT Traversals, and implementing STUN, TURN, ICE. Competence in configuring lab equipment like switches and routers.
• Experience in creating automation scripts for testing embedded device features and functionalities using PERL, Python, or Java.
• Proficiency with tools such as Wireshark for packet analysis and network emulation tools.
• Experience with Jira and Test Rails for defect tracking, test case management, and execution.
