Mac-Weld Machining Ltd. is seeking a Manual Machinist to take on the task of sharing our vision locally and globally. The Manual Machinist is responsible for using Manual Lathes, Milling Machines, Drill Presses, Hand Tools *
Skills & Responsibilities*

• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations
• Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as Micrometers and Vernier Calipers
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
• Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
• Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
• Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled
• Adhere to all quality inspection procedures
• Keep work area clean
• Reading text and document use
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Work well with others in a team environment
• Capable of decision making and critical thinking
• Job task planning, organizing, and multi-tasking
• Significant use of memory
• Finding information when required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications*

• OSSD or equivalent
• 4 or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a manual machinist
• Mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail

This is a full-time day/evening rotating shift position in our Sarnia facility where the individual may be required to work weekends and overtime from time to time *
Signing Bonus: *New employees will receive a signing bonus of $500 after successfully completing their three month probationary period, and $1000 after one year of continuous employment. The employee must be on active payroll for the entire timeframe to qualify Mac-Weld Machining is a privately owned company.
