Managing Director of Strategic Growth
to lead our mission to build the "Everyday Bank of the Future" and achieve our ambitious FY26 goals, including becoming #1 in J.D. Power client satisfaction.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Everyday Financial Services (EFS) Strategy and Growth, you will be the strategic catalyst for igniting innovative growth initiatives across all EFS channels. This pivotal role balances product marketing with client loyalty and engagement, with a clear focus on client acquisition and retention.
You will translate ATB's strategic vision into actionable growth plans, leveraging data-driven insights and a channel-agnostic approach to create coordinated, delightful experiences that propel us towards zero disappointed customers. While focusing on deepening relationships with our core clients, you will also strategically expand our reach in key segments such as Entrepreneurs, Homebuyers, and Young Albertans.
This role is a cornerstone of the EFS Strategy leadership team, where your influence will shape our portfolio decisions and contribute to enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
Accountabilities
Strategic Growth and Market Share Expansion:
Drive comprehensive client acquisition, retention, and deepening strategies across all channels, aligned with ATB's long-term vision. Spearhead targeted growth for key segments like Entrepreneurs, Homebuyers, and Young Albertans to outpace market growth and increase market share.
Cross-Functional Integration and Collaboration:
Collaborate strategically with Client Experience and Technology (CXT), People, Culture, Brand and Communications (PCBC), and other Areas of Expertise (AOE)/Strategic Support Units (SSU) to seamlessly integrate growth initiatives. Provide strategic input as a key member of the EFS Strategy leadership team and build relationships across ATB to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Data-Driven Optimization and Client Engagement:
Leverage enterprise data, CLV models, and segmentation tools to personalize client acquisition and deepening strategies. Establish and optimize KPIs for client acquisition, retention, product penetration, and lifetime value. Implement data-driven approaches to identify growth opportunities, optimize campaign performance, and enhance client engagement.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and develop a high-performing Strategic Growth team, fostering a culture of innovation, analytical thinking, and client-centricity. Guide matrix relationships across EFS and enterprise teams for coordinated execution of growth initiatives.
Innovation and Digital Transformation:
Champion the adoption of emerging technologies, automation, and digital tools to enhance growth capabilities and client experience. Contribute to the "Everyday Bank of the Future" by identifying and piloting innovative growth approaches and client engagement models. Drive continuous improvement in growth processes.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education and Professional Background
+ Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field preferred.
+ Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in senior strategic roles focused on growth, marketing, or client experience.
+ Deep understanding of the Canadian retail banking market, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.
Leadership and Management Experience
+ Minimum 5 years of experience leading diverse, high-performing teams in complex, matrix organizations.
+ Proven track record of successfully developing and executing large-scale strategic initiatives that deliver measurable business results.
+ Experience leading organizational change initiatives and driving adoption of new processes, technologies, or strategic approaches.
Technical and Analytical Skills
+ Advanced proficiency with data analysis, customer segmentation, and performance measurement tools and methodologies.
+ Experience with digital marketing, campaign management, customer journey optimization, and multi-channel attribution.
+ Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and emerging fintech solutions.
Workplace Arrangements
This role can be either hybrid or remote.
If you live in Alberta, you'll work both remote and onsite from an ATB corporate office, where time onsite is based on your job accountabilities and performance objectives. If you live outside of Alberta, you'll work fully remote with occasional travel to ATB corporate locations in Alberta.
