Management and strategy consulting role supporting commercial energy, power and utilities, and infrastructure clients in Canada as they undertake the energy transition towards net zero emissions and a sustainable future energy supply. As project or workstream manager, responsible for leading teams (a) conducting data and information gathering, modelling and analysis, (b) assessing the client\xe2\x80\x99s organisational structure, capabilities, business models, and performance, (c) examining external regulatory and commercial market and industry structures, including existing and new business models, (d) synthesising findings into easy-to-understand recommendations, visual presentations, and written reports, (e) supporting client\xe2\x80\x99s external and internal business and technology transformation programmes, and (f) supporting Guidehouse Directors and Partners with business development including network development, proposal writing, and opportunity origination and pursuit.

What You Will Do:

We are looking for someone to join our team in Toronto, Canada as a Managing Consultant. The role is on the International Energy Providers team within the Energy, Sustainability & Infrastructure segment at Guidehouse. Your work will focus on strategy, business and technology transformation engagements supporting commercial energy, power and utility, and infrastructure clients as they facilitate and manage the energy transition in Canada.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Coordinating the collection, analysing and synthesising of multiple inputs into coherent insights across a variety of formats, including spreadsheets (and other quantitative modelling tools), slide decks, written narrative, playbooks, dashboards, and toolkits

- Engaging with clients and external stakeholders to understand key challenges and needs

- Defining compelling solutions and value propositions aligned with clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs

- Leading engagements and workstreams for large and complex projects

- Mentoring local junior staff

- Working with regional and international leadership to grow the business and team in Canada

Our consultants manage their own tasks and schedules while delivering high quality client work. Our consultants must show considerable business and industry acumen and an acute focus on maximising value for clients and building trusted relationships.

What You Will Need:

- 5-7 years of experience in strategy or management consulting or related field

- Strong analysis skills, including numeracy and qualitative and quantitative reasoning

- Experience delivering strategy, business, or technology transformation engagements

- Experience with project / workstream management

- Business case or proposal writing experience including budget development, timeline management, and stakeholder engagement and input facilitation

- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree

- Solid verbal communication and narrative development skills, with the ability to summarize and convey key insights from analyses to senior audiences

- A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative problem solving

- A team player who can work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels

- Willingness to travel internationally

- Ability to work fluently in English (written and spoken)

What Would Be Nice To Have:

- MBA or other master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, economics, finance, science, technology, engineering, or mathematics

- Knowledge and experience in the energy, power and utilities, or infrastructure industries

- Ability to work fluently in French (written and spoken)
