Reporting into the AVP Workplace Design and Experience, this role supports Co-operators by using design strategies to maintain brand consistency and applying strong design thinking to create a positive workplace experience. They develop office design that uphold customer experience and employee experience and elevate brand expectations while meeting budgets, schedules and operational requirements. The Manager, Workplace Design will work in close partnership with design peers and leadership along with cross-functional teams to deliver creative design solutions to align to the future of work and the future vision of our Real Estate footprint.


How you will create impact:




Assessing the scope of each project design by reviewing business requirement surveys and real estate documents to align with landlord expectations and workplace strategy. Managing the development, production, and delivery of design documents in partnership with external consultants. Developing standards for construction and furniture to deliver optimal space performance, including sustainable solutions. Executing designs in collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize material and inventory levels nationally, achieve fiscal goals, and uphold corporate responsibilities. Working with business units to ensure design processes, practices, and programs align with company objectives. Preparing, communicating, and educating client groups and design teams on changes in policies and practices across the organization. Managing employee performance by setting expectations, removing barriers to success, and fostering accountability and engagement.

To join our team:




You have a Bachelor's Degree in Design, Business, Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, or a related field. You have 6-9 years of progressive experience in workplace design, project management, or related disciplines, ideally in corporate or financial services environments. You have proven experience leading teams, managing consultants and vendors, and delivering design projects on time and within budget. You have strong knowledge of design principles, industry trends, building and health codes, and sustainable design practices. You have excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills that enable you to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels You have demonstrated ability to solve complex design challenges with creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. You have a valid driver's license and insurance and are able to travel as needed to support site visits and project delivery.
