ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Manager of Workforce Planning is a strategic thinker and people-focused leader who plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's workforce strategy and operational excellence. This Manager oversees a diverse portfolio including Employee Scheduling, Talent Acquisition, Volunteer Resources, the Gift Shop, and Spiritual Care, ensuring each area aligns with the hospital's mission, values, and long-term goals.



With a passion for people management and a future-focused mindset, the Manager will:


Provide leadership and coaching to multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, trust, and a culture of continuous performance improvement and client-focused service delivery. Drive talent forecasting by analyzing workforce data to anticipate gaps and align staffing needs with organizational priorities. Develop and implement strategies for acquisition and retention of staff and volunteers to meet evolving business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders across HR, operations, and clinical leadership to address workforce challenges and implement solutions that enhance operations. Champion volunteer engagement, ensuring volunteers are meaningfully integrated into hospital operations and recognized for their contributions. Shape and evolve spiritual care programs to meet the changing needs of patients, families, and staff with compassion and agility. Lead system and process improvements to enhance workforce management efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Partner with Human Resources leadership to guide leaders in the effective interpretation of collective agreements, keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged with new changes and their implications. Support the roll-out of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness (HROE) initiatives through effective communication, education, and client support. Stay ahead of workforce trends, bringing innovative and creative ideas to the planning process.

This role requires a full-time, on-site presence. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor, a connector of people and ideas, and a champion for both operational efficiency and human-centered care.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration, Health Administration). Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in workforce planning or related fields, preferably in a healthcare setting. In lieu of formal education, ten (10) years experience in Human Resources of which five (5) years have been in progressive roles.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS




Strong fiscal management skills and experience in budget oversight. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

PREFERRED




Professional designation (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) LEAN certification Prosci Change Management certification
