About the Role
The
Manager, Workforce Development & Partnerships
, provides strategic and operational leadership to a portfolio of programs that help newcomers achieve meaningful, sustainable employment. This hands-on role combines people leadership, program evaluation, and partnership development. The Manager leads a capable team of Coordinators and Employment Practitioners, ensuring programs are delivered with quality, consistency, and alignment to the organization's

We're seeking a systems thinker with experience in workforce and career development, change management, and cross-sector collaboration--someone who can connect strategic direction with day-to-day impact.
What You Will Do
Lead planning, delivery, and evaluation of employment and training programs that meet funder and community goals.
Develop annual operational and performance plans and ensure program accountability.
Manage multi-program budgets, reporting, and quality assurance.
Build partnerships with employers, post-secondary institutions, and industry networks to expand employment pathways.
Oversee evaluation and reporting using
iSTEDY
,
Power BI
, or similar tools to track performance and outcomes.
Supervise and mentor Coordinators, supporting professional growth and collaboration.
Champion inclusive and accessible practices across all program operations.
Participate in the
Strategic Leadership Table (SLT)
and serve as liaison with employee-led committees.
What It Takes
We recognize that people gain experience in many ways. The most helpful background for this role will combine formal learning and hands-on leadership in
employment, workforce development, or community-based programming.
Post-secondary education in
Human Services, Career Development, Business, Education,
or a related field--or an equivalent blend of training and experience.
About
five years of progressive experience
in employment, workforce, or settlement programs, including
three years in a supervisory or management role.
Experience improving employment or training initiatives that connect participants to sustainable work.
Familiarity with
evaluation and data tools
such as Power BI, iSTEDY*, or other analytics platforms. A record of developing partnerships with employers, funders, and post-secondary institutions, and managing multi-funder budgets or reporting frameworks.
Knowledge of
Alberta's labour market
and the employment barriers newcomers face.
Additional assets such as certification or training in
leadership, project management, or program evaluation.
