Join us as we build a knowledgeable and collaborative team that courageously changes how transit projects will be delivered.Our GO Expansion Union Station Enhancement Project (USEP) Owner\'s Representative office is looking for a manager to be Accountable for the project management of capital infrastructure projects associated with Metrolinx railway station/corridors including the planning, scope, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.Reporting directly to the Director, USEP Alliance Owner\'s Representative, you will manage Metrolinx\'s first Alliance delivery model contract, overseeing consultants\' and contractors\' work and actively lead all owner responsibilities to ensure achievement of objectives according to defined timelines, budget, and approved project deliverables.What will I be doing?

  • Manages Alliance contract and project progress; reviews work activities to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement; recommends and implements solutions
  • Oversees consultant and contractor scope and activities to ensure contract compliance.
  • Identifies issues, risks, and problems, and initiates corrective action to avoid serious project delays or budget impacts; determines when escalation is required and initiates appropriate action
  • Manages project scope and change orders including negotiating, analysing cost and/or schedule impacts, and processing changes through the applicable governance.
  • Negotiates with and influences consultants, contractors, internal stakeholders (e.g. GO Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g. municipalities, transit authorities, government agencies) on contract terms, timelines, deliverables, changes and other issues impacting project progress, quality, cost, and safety
  • Manages and monitors capital and operating budgets, approves invoice payments, analyzes expenditures, and monitors adherence to budget constraints; takes corrective action to address issues
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in applied science, engineering, business, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated project management experience related to the planning, design, and construction of transit facilities, buildings, stations, public infrastructure, and related works.
  • A valid Ontario Class G driver\'s license is required to travel to various site locations, meetings, operational facilities, etc. (approximately 5%). Must meet and maintain the corporate standard for a good driving record.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies to manage construction projects from start to completion.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is an asset.
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts
