If you require an accommodation at any stage of the hiring process, please let us know.Summary of the Position:The goal of Clean Foundationxe2x80x99s Clean Transportation team is to support Nova Scotiaxe2x80x99s efforts to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 by developing and delivering programming to support the transition from conventional fossil fuel-powered modes of transportation. Currently, the Transportation Team portfolio comprises these programs: Next Ride (EV education and engagement), Electrify (rebates for electric vehicles and ebikes), MHEV rebates, and EVolved, developing a guidebook for first-time EV owners.Through a combination of building partnerships, designing, implementing and evaluating programs, and contributing meaningfully to the public dialogue around low carbon transportation, the Clean Transportation Manager will support the increased uptake of low carbon transportation alternatives in Nova Scotia.Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role is best suited to an impact-driven project manager who thrives in a collaborative work environment. Knowledge of EVs and other low-carbon modes of transportation is an asset.The Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their assigned team, ensuring that projects and tasks are completed on time and within budget. This role involves developing team members, managing performance, developing and managing project budgets, completing timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting, engaging with project partners, funders and stakeholders, and maintaining effective communication both within the team and with external stakeholders. Managers at Clean are expected to contribute to the strategic growth and development of their team members and projects in alignment with overall organizational goals and priorities.Responsibilities:

  • Team development, supervision and scheduling of 6-11 department staff including seasonal and contract employees and interns;
  • Leading and supporting a team of 6-11 staff (including contract, seasonal and interning) to achieve project performance targets, while fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
  • Developing and managing project budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring compliance with financial processes.
  • Developing tools and processes to efficiently and effectively manage project schedules, staffing, internal and external communications, quality, and risks.
  • Setting and reviewing team and individual performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional development for team members.
  • Addressing project performance and financial issues promptly, implementing financial improvement plans and resolving variances.
  • Ensuring effective communication within the team and with external partners, maintaining organizational standards.
  • Providing timely reporting and information about their projects and teams to their Senior Manager.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with key stakeholders and representing the organization in interactions and meetings.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans and identifying opportunities for operational improvements and program growth.
  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of accurate and professional project reports.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for program expansion, collaborating on proposals and pitches.
Qualifications:
  • At least one yearxe2x80x99s experience coordinating projects, teams, and related organizational functions.
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, project management, analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving and financial skills.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a relevant field; specialized industry certification, or an acceptable combination of relevant training and experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Readily adapts to new ideas and initiatives, changes in processes, procedures, methods, etc.
  • Commitment to uphold and advocate for Cleanxe2x80x99s values and standards.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite of programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Additional assets:
  • Experience working in low carbon transportation or the environmental sector.
  • Valid PMP certification or proof of other project management training.
  • Experience managing projects in non-profit environment.
  • Adept building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders from diverse sectors.
  • Experience designing, implementing and evaluating public education or environmental incentive campaigns.

Working Conditions:This role will be a combination of remote and in-office hours which will require work on a computer for extended periods of time.
