Job Highlights: Skills - Must Have:

  • CPA designation required.
  • Significant public company audit and/or financial reporting experience - ideally with small to mid-sized product-based companies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
  • Excel wizard.
  • Specialization in specific industries (e.g., mining, oil & gas).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or other accounting software.
  • CPA qualification in the United States.
  • Experience with US GAAP.
  • Familiarity with SEC or Canadian Securities regulators disclosure.
  • COSO Internal Control Certificate.
  • CFA designation.
  • IT expertise for spearheading IT initiatives.
  • XBRL experience.
  • Knowledge of corporate income tax.
About this Job:

The Role:As the Manager, Advisory Services, you will work directly with clients to meet their financial reporting requirements. This may involve assisting with closing procedures, planning accounting systems, conducting IFRS or US GAAP accounting policy research, preparing MD&A, and creating financial statements. You will have ownership over the client files you work on and experience the rewarding nature of working on diverse clients. Proactivity is essential, as filing deadlines are regular occurrences. The role offers flexibility, including remote work, and prioritizes work/life balance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements and management discussion and analysis for quarterly and year-end filings for various clients.
  • Complete consolidation and translation files.
  • Assist clients with financial analysis and prepare analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis of corporate costs compared with quarterly forecasts and annual business plans.
  • Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for clients.
  • Perform bookkeeping on special projects and regular period-ending closing entries for some clients.
  • Aid in year-end audit planning and liaise with auditors on behalf of clients.
  • Assist with continuous disclosure requirements, including complex accounting issues such as acquisitions, stock-based compensation, translations, and consolidations.
