Position Description
The Complex Care and Recovery Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is recruiting a full-time, temporary (7 months, until October 25, 2024) Manager to oversee the Therapeutic Neighbourhood and Social Determinants of Health Services.
This position reports to the Clinical Director of Adult Neurodevelopment, Geriatric and Social Support Services. The Manager will be responsible for operations related to the Therapeutic Neighbourhood and social support services, as well as oversee centralized resources, such as the gym and ADL kitchen. Social Support Services includes the Social Determinants of Health (SDH) service, which works in the areas of housing, income, employment and education. The program develops and maintains community partnerships to effect system change and lead knowledge development. The Manager will collaborate with the Clinical Director, and Transition Manager in implementing service development initiatives and expanding partnerships with granting agencies/ministries, increasing access to and enhancing partnerships with high supportive housing providers, improving patient flow and collaborating to manage ALC across CAMH.
The Therapeutic Neighbourhood occupy a central location in the McCain Complex Care and Recovery Building on the CAMH campus and is a state-of-the-art facility, which will be used to support and enhance functional recovery for our patients. Accommodating a comprehensive range of both structured and informal activities and services, the Therapeutic Neighbourhood supports inpatients in acquiring the social, behavioural, physical, and self-management skills that promote success in the community.
Priorities in this position include, leading the expansion of evidence based programming available in the Therapeutic Neighbourhood, program development and evaluation, as well as increasing the hours and scope of programming offered. In addition, the Manager will lead significant strategic initiatives to enhance the integration and collaboration of the Therapeutic Neighbourhood within the portfolio and across CAMH improving effectiveness and access to programming for patients. The Manager will be responsible for defining performance management objectives and establishing operational performance standards while monitoring daily operations of this service.
The Manager will collaborate with the Clinical Director in implementing service development initiatives and expanding partnerships with internal and external funding agencies/ministries and will develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain support to grow the service and increase the effectiveness of patient programming in the Therapeutic Neighbourhood.
The Manager will support the strong academic and research mandate of CAMH, manage donor/development opportunities in addition to supporting CAMH\xe2\x80\x99s vision of extending our reach as a world class academic centre in mental health and addictions. This mandate includes a focus on both the educational experience of trainees, and the ongoing professional development of staff. The Manager will also strive to create a safe and healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is currently located at 1001 Queen Street West but may require work arrangements from other CAMH locations.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, preferably in a healthcare related field (e.g., Health/Business Administration, Public Health, Research, or a Clinical field), and combined with at least one (1) year of experience in clinical management. Registration in good standing, as a Regulated Healthcare Professional is preferred. Experience in program planning and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise the work activities of others within an interprofessional team. You will utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build collaborative clinical teams and to provide leadership. You exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, are self-motivated, and work successfully both independently as well as in team settings. You will have excellent decision-making and problem solving skills to intervene in complex situations. Computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft office suite is required. The ability to manage budgetary and statistical data and knowledge of human resource management practices in a unionized environment is also required.
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Please Note: This full-time, temporary (until October 25, 2024) position is NOT part of any bargaining unit.
