Overview

As the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Candidate Experience, you will be responsible for the overall service delivery of all talent acquisition related programs, initiatives, polices, processes, and procedures. You will also be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of current and long-term business requirements to ensure talent acquisition related programs and practices support both immediate business needs as well as the strategic aspirations of the corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct a comprehensive end to end talent attraction strategy.
  • Oversee the development, management, and evaluation of talent sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Oversee the development, management, and evaluation of student strategies and pipeline programs.
  • Oversee and direct an integrated social media and digital marketing strategy to proactively improve talent pipeline, increase employer branding exposure to meet an increased volume and complexity of hiring.
  • Direct and develop innovative and effective external and internal employer branding, employee value proposition, recruitment advertising to position MPI as an employer of choice.
  • Lead a team of professionals to create and deliver value added talent acquisition services and programs, focused on fostering a culture of excellence and respectful work environment that attracts, retains, and inspires the best talent.
  • Proactively anticipate, advise, and respond to requests for guidance from leaders, managers, and employees on talent acquisition issues and policies. Provides advice and consultation to senior leadership on sensitive matters.
  • Oversee the enhancement of processes and practices aimed at delivering value-added services, focused on attracting top talent through sourcing, identifying, and recruiting to meet the current and future business needs and reducing administration, reducing time to fill, and improving quality of hire.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience for internal and external candidates by driving service excellence from point of attraction to offer accept.
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts with external search firms for additional support in filling hard to fill roles.
  • Support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion with talent acquisition initiatives and partnerships.
  • Responsible for the activities of a manager, including management of an operating budget, participating in strategic planning, budgeting for special projects, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Commerce, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation.
  • Eight years of progressively senior human resources experience, including two years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with talent attraction practices, programs, and policies along with collective agreements and other related human resource policies and practices.
  • Interpersonal skills to provide customer service with a strategic focus and to support corporate-wide programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and strong working relationships with a broad range of individuals at all levels of the Corporation and interact successfully at all levels within the corporation, as well as external agencies.
  • Advanced ability to gather functional business process requirements and translate tasks and duties into technical specifications, processes, and program development.
  • Strong focus and commitment to creating a positive candidate experience to attract and select top talent in a highly competitive talent market.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to increase team performance through application of agile leadership techniques.
  • Proficiency with related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ATS, HRMS) and web recruitment tools, including social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, including the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Code, Labour Relations Act, and other related labour and human resource legislation.
