Job Summary
Reporting to the Administrator of the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge, the Support Services Manager is accountable for all on site coordination and planning of Support and Maintenance services at the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge. This position is responsible for the planning, organizing, implementing, directing, monitoring and evaluating the dietary, housekeeping, laundry, security and facilities maintenance systems.

This position promotes education, team building, motivating and communicating to ensure all services meet or exceed the standards set out by Accreditation Canada and a high degree of resident and staff satisfaction, as set out by the Provincial Long Term Care Standards.

This position is also responsible for assisting in the development of standards, workload measurement indictors, dietary systems evaluations, and tender specifications for equipment and employee performance evaluations.

Job Qualifications

Education
Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field or Environment Services Program from an accredited post-secondary institution is required.
Course work in Long Term Care Management is an asset.

Experience
Three years\' experience within the last five years at the managerial\\supervisory level preferably in a Health Care Setting.
Experience with facilities management/infrastructure support is required.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, problem solving and project management skills.
Demonstrate the ability to manage human and financial resources.
Individuals must embrace a resident and family centered care philosophy.
Knowledge of building systems and codes.
Applicants must also possess strong computer skills.
