Global Banking and Markets
Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious & metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.
Purpose

Leads and oversees a team of Supply Chain Finance Services\xe2\x80\x99 subject matter experts, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and approving Supply Chain Finance transactions, to provide a high level of Customer Service and contribute to the overall success of the Supply Chain Finance Services Centre. The incumbent is responsible for the completion of monthly/quarterly reports as applicable, ensuring all time sensitive and critical work is completed by the team.
Accountabilities

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manages day-to-day operations. Assigning, reviewing and releasing transactions.
  • Provides guidance, technical, transactional, and compliance direction to team members on specific matters related to supply chain finance services business
  • Exhibits ample understanding of all the Supply Chain Finance facility structures and solid knowledge of various banks systems: BESS, Input Facility, CorrRisk, CGI-T360, Prime Revenue, ACBS, Scotia Connect, etc.
  • Contribute to the set up and maintenance the Facilities and Transactions Check list, the Shared Drive, Group email, Customer and Facility Folders
  • Assists Senior Manager in various team-related tasks, resolution of exception items and provide back-up support during times of vacations, absences, etc.
  • Understands how the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Requirements

  • University Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or business-related studies or equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge of Supply Chain Finance products and services
  • Strong working knowledge of Bank\xe2\x80\x99s AML and Compliance policies
  • Advance computer skills, particularly MS Office Suite - Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Strong leadership skills, superior customer service focus, communication, problem solving, and team building skills

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
