About the Position

The Manager, Student Registration and Academic Advising is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the student registration and records and academic advising functions within the Registrar\'s Office. This role involves providing leadership and supervision to a team of staff members, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and managing resources to support registration and advising services. The Manager plays a crucial role in promoting student success by coordinating registration processes, maintaining accurate student records, and providing guidance on academic and career advising. Additionally, the Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to enhance communication, develop and implement strategic enrolment plans, and assess program effectiveness.
Position Details

\xc2\xb7 Student Registration

o Organize and prepare block registration using system tools, collaborating with program chairs to meet academic needs.

o Gather data for analysis and quality assurance, implementing technological changes to support registration processes.

o Coordinate communications with students regarding registration and develop policies and procedures.

o Troubleshoot student registration-related problems.

\xc2\xb7 Student Records

o Coordinate systems and resources for convocation and term end processing, ensuring accuracy of institutional academic standing and graduation eligibility.

o Gather data for analysis and quality assurance, implementing technological changes to support records management.

o Develop and implement policies and procedures regarding student records.

o Troubleshoot student records-related problems.

\xc2\xb7 Academic Advising

o Articulate theories and models that facilitate student development during college years.

o Design and provide advising services based on current research on student learning, career preparation, and development theories.

o Manage administrative documents and confidential student records.

o Resolve client and staff issues, raise the unit\'s profile with stakeholders, and research advising trends.

\xc2\xb7 People Development

o Attract and retain staff through recruitment, selection, and orientation processes.

o Monitor and assess staff performance, providing coaching and mentoring as needed.

o Conduct performance reviews, provide professional development opportunities, and ensure adherence to ethical guidelines.

o Manage budget, assign project work, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

\xc2\xb7 Communication and Collaboration

o Develop communication plans internally and externally, ensuring alignment and avoiding information conflicts.

o Foster working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as high school counselors and administrators.

o Collaborate with marketing, communications, and IT departments to enhance student engagement.

o Utilize CRM systems for communication and collaborate with other operational units to achieve enrollment and retention goals.

\xc2\xb7 Assessment, Research, Planning, and Programming

o Review data to support enrollment and retention goals, identify trends, and measure effectiveness.

o Conduct quality assurance monitoring, incorporate best practices, and influence policy development.

o Facilitate data collection for assessment and evaluation, implement program changes based on findings.

o Contribute to the development and implementation of the Strategic Enrollment Plan.

Required Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field; Master\'s degree preferred and minimum of 5 years experience in a student enrolment role at a post-secondary institution.

\xc2\xb7 Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in recruitment, selection, and performance management.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in data analysis, assessment, and program evaluation.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of student registration and records systems and relevant policies.

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with career and academic advising principles and practices.

\xc2\xb7 Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to adapt to technological changes and explore innovative solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of ethical guidelines for advising and working with confidential student information.
Salary Starting from $75,908 to $86,289 per annum; commensurate with education and experience.
