The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewReporting to the Director Care Supports and Education, the manager is responsible for the ongoing administrative and clinical supervision of assigned provincially focused services within the Mental Health and Addictions area. The manager will participate in, and contribute to the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of programs. They will use their experience and expertise to ensure that a client-centered philosophy and approach is maintained, enhanced and integrated into the development, provision and support of Shared Health Mental Health & Addictions programs and services.Main Function

  • Collaborate with clinical leadership and internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, effective and appropriate support through a clinical quality and patient safety lens that will shape an environment for clinical education and service excellence.
  • Lead and manage provincial mental health and addictions school-based team to support children, families and staff of Manitoba schools.
  • Oversee the daily operations of provincially focused MHA school-based teams.
Experience
  • 5 years of progressive management experience leading health services in a large, publicly funded health services delivery organization including:
  • 3 years directly related clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and principles of recover.
  • 2 years supervisory or management experience in an interdisciplinary and/or unionized team environment.
  • 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience implementing program planning, development and evaluation.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary degree in relevant health discipline from an accredited education institution (i.e. BSW, BSc.MH, BSc.PN, BN) required.
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s prepared (MSW, MOT, MSc.PN, MN, MA (Psychology), MPH, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the
framework. * Knowledge of Mental Health and Addictions and Co-Occurring Disorders.
  • Knowledge of the provincial health system.
  • Collaborative leadership capabilities.
  • Research, program development, training, education, evaluation skills.
  • Systems thinking, continuous process improvement skills.
  • Change management knowledge is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of human resource management, budgets and financial reporting.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Interruptions to respond to questions from executives, and partner organizations are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
