Job Purpose:

As a valued member of the Special Accounts Management Unit team, you will perform in depth analysis and management of Commercial Banking Problem loans up to $5 million.

What you\'ll do in this role?

  • Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and administration of an assigned portfolio of accounts in accordance with the Bank\'s policies and guidelines. This includes prudent management of risk, the Bank\'s collateral and minimizing loan losses, including making timely recommendations regarding risk ratings, non-accrual loan formations, and loan loss provisioning.
  • You will prepare analysis and recommend strategies for managing distressed loan situations/proposals for Commercial Banking accounts up to $5 million and prepare correspondence relating to these accounts for adjudication by Global Risk Management - Regional Credit and or the Bank\'s executive as circumstances require.
  • Under circumstances where a risk profile improves, you will give consideration to the appropriateness of file retention and the timely transfer of an account back to Banking.
  • You will ensure appropriate fees/pricing is implemented in consideration of risk ratings and Bank resources consumed.
  • You will manage relationships with borrowers and other lenders (as required) working with professionals (legal / financial advisory) as necessary and represent the Bank\'s position to all parties.
  • You will provide guidance and advice to Commercial banking and Global Risk Management, as required.
What we\'re looking for?
  • Post-Secondary Education completed, Professional Accounting designation (CPA) or MBA is an asset.
  • Previous banking and/or financial experience is an asset
  • Excellent financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Previous experience with commercial insolvency and related legal aspects, including documentation
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk policies, products, and processes
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, as well as the ability to review legal documents
  • Strong computer skills
  • Flexible to travel
