The Opportunity:

The Manager - Software Engineering (Salesforce) is responsible for task and personnel management of their Engineering team. Their team will perform analysis, development and ongoing support of key Salesforce components and its related ecosystem. The Manager - Software Engineering (Salesforce) will manage a team comprised of Software Engineers and will work closely with System Integrators (DevOps), Solution Architects and Product Management to deliver high quality software and ensure that system components are operating correctly once deployed. The Manager - Software Engineering (Salesforce) will also be responsible for performance management of employees and contractors on their team, and career management of employees.

In this role you'll:
Deliver high quality software efficiently Provide technical and personnel leadership Write high quality, testable and easily maintainable code in a variety of languages (APEX/SOQL, Java, SQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS) Perform code reviews and provide feedback to team members Perform systems maintenance tasks. Lead and mentor team members in technical and procedural aspects of software development Work with Product Management to turn high-level business requirements into technical tasks and to provide estimates for implementation Ensure product quality and reliability in production environments Lead Software Development activities in an Agile workflow with Scrum, backlog grooming, retrospectives Stay up to date on technical functionality, new releases and features that are both part of the platform and larger ecosystem. Identify and define opportunities to leverage those technologies for the betterment of software products and the Ritchie Bros. business Work regular business hours remotely or onsite in Burnaby, BC Manage on-call after hours support as required and be available for critical production support incidents Establish performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews with all team members Provide career management of all employees on the team Perform other HR and Financial processes as required Lifting moderately weighted computer equipment and peripherals from time to time Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline 10+ years developing software in a variety of environments with a focus on Salesforce 3+ years of Technical Team Leadership 3+ years of Agile development 1+ years of Personnel management
