Manager - Social Media & Digital Engagement

Location: Toronto, Canada (Hybrid)

Experience Required: 10+ years in social media and digital marketing, with at least 3-4 years in a senior strategic role

About the Role


We're looking for a hands-on, self-driven social media leader who thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. This is not a role for someone who needs constant guidance or weeks to deliver. We operate like a startup -- agile, quick, and results-focused -- and expect the same from this position.

You will own end-to-end social media strategy, campaign calendar planning, and execution with zero mentorship required, bringing both big-picture vision and day-to-day delivery. From ICP alignment to integrated campaign planning, analytics, competitor benchmarking, and creative oversight, you'll run the function independently and deliver high-quality work the first time.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Planning

Build and own a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with ICPs, buyer personas, and verticals. Design and maintain detailed, integrated campaign calendars that synchronize social media with inbound campaigns, outreach programs, PR, and events. Act as the social media thought leader -- advising leadership and cross-functional teams on trends, best practices, and competitive opportunities.

2. Execution & Ownership

Execute campaigns end-to-end without dependency on leadership for reviews or step-by-step guidance. Deliver at startup speed -- turning concepts into live campaigns in days, not weeks. Manage platform-specific execution across LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and emerging channels. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring cross-functional alignment for integrated campaigns.

3. Analytics & Insights

Own social media analytics with deep, regular competitive and industry benchmarking. Evaluate competitors' funnel-stage content (TOFU, MOFU, BOFU) and align TechBlocks' social output with GTM strategy. Report on performance with actionable recommendations and continuous optimizations. Use insights to refine targeting, content formats, and posting strategies.

4. Content & Creative Direction

Direct and brief design teams for high-impact, brand-aligned content. Ensure every asset is platform-optimized, ICP-relevant, and aligned with funnel objectives. Drive creative ideas that differentiate us in the market and boost engagement.

5. Brand Reputation & Employer Branding

Oversee social media brand reputation, including rapid response to opportunities or risks. Leverage social media to strengthen employer brand and attract top talent.

6. Process & Governance

Establish repeatable processes, templates, and governance frameworks for content planning, approvals, and reporting to ensure consistent, scalable execution.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in social media and digital marketing, with at least 3-4 years in a senior leadership role. Proven ability to own execution without oversight -- delivering accurate, impactful work independently. Expertise in integrated campaign calendar planning and flawless coordination across marketing channels. Strong background in competitor benchmarking and funnel-stage social analysis. Comfortable in fast-paced, startup-like environments with rapid turnarounds. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Growth in ICP engagement and social-driven inbound leads. Demonstrated share-of-voice growth against competitors. On-time delivery of integrated campaign calendars and flawless execution against them. Measurable improvement in campaign integration and performance. Consistent high-quality execution without repeated review cycles
