Our employment opportunity of the moment: Manager, Security, Travel and Facilities Services and Centre Security Officer

Location: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid mode)

You have:

• A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• A formalized training in one of the following specialized areas: security management, physical security and business continuity planning.
• Proficiency in French and English (reading, writing and speaking).
• A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in the management of security and administrative services, and experience leading and managing a team.
• An in-depth understanding of security management and business continuity planning.
• An enhanced knowledge of administrative and security practices, and travel management.

You are:

• Aligned with the IDRC management competencies profile level 1.
• A skilled communicator (written, verbal) with great interpersonal skills.
• An expert in strategic planning, organizing, coordinating, negotiating and problem-solving.
• Able to work under pressure using your initiative and sound judgment.
• A team player within a multidisciplinary group of people from diverse cultures.
• Qualified to establish, manage, and monitor relationships with diverse and experienced stakeholders.

You are interested in:

• Leading the development, establishment and maintenance of the Centre-wide Security Plan that addresses security risks.
• Directing the development, maintenance and exercise of the Centre-wide Business Continuity Plans and Programs.
• Representing IDRC on committees and boards and at security briefings presented by the government departments and security agencies.
• Overseeing the development, implementation and interpretation of effective policies, systems, and controls to govern travel, and overseeing the negotiation and management of the IDRC\xe2\x80\x99s travel services contracts to ensure the efficient delivery of services to IDRC travellers.
• Joining an organization that values and models diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Additional Information:

This position requires occasional international travel. As a result of this process, the Centre may establish a pool of pre-qualified candidates for future permanent and term opportunities.
