The Manager, Security (Manager) is responsible for overseeing the security and safety of the assets, employees, tenants, contractors and all guests of the CN Tower. This includes but is not limited to:
Security equipment,
Life safety and fire safety,
Recruitment and retention
Performance Manage and training
Review all incident reports; correct, check for accuracy, gather documentation including closed circuit television (CCTV) video, forward to correct department, analyze and make recommendations for preventive measures
Recommend revisions to security measures as needs dictate including operational changes, new technology and equipment, changes in statutory requirements and implementing approved changes
Exercise timely two-way communication with all staff, tenants, and other departments; update standing orders and ensure all staff are up to date with changes
Develop relationship with local authorities \xe2\x80\x93 Police, Fire, Ambulance and Building Department
Work with the Director, Security to create and plan the department\xe2\x80\x99s monthly and annual budget
Conduct monthly supervisory meetings and oversee line employee briefings and meetings
Develop individual Supervisor portfolio plans; provide guidance and coaching to Supervisors within their portfolios
Continuously responsible for upgrading and assuring the integrity of all Security related systems, policies and procedures
Ensure Life Safety Orientation is up to date and adequate supervisors are trained on the delivery of the program, to ensure all new employees, tenants and contractors that will be working on property receive the training
Be an active member in CN Tower committees such as JHSC, Fire Warden Committee, Broadcaster Committee and Crisis committee
Qualifications
A relevant college diploma or university degree in law enforcement, security or equivalent is preferred
A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) of related experience in management of the security management of a large property
Working knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation and regulation in the area of security and life safety requirements/guidelines
Working Conditions
Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads. Flexible to work rotating shifts, which includes but is not limited to evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required. High stress, fast paced environment Interacts with employees, management and the public at large.
