The Opportunity




This position may be based from either our Carbonear or Clarenville office.





As a valued member of our Regional Engineering and Operations team, your responsibilities will include:
Leading, motivating and developing a team of professionals who personify excellence in engineering and operations. Capital planning and project proposal development, along with the refinement of best-practices aimed at continual improvement. Asset management, system planning studies, enhancement of maintenance and safe power restoration activities Ensure that engineering and operations are conducted in a safe and effective manner and foster an environment of innovation. Leading capital project execution and contractor management. Provide managerial support for safe system maintenance and power restoration for the Region during regular operations, after-hours and during storm response. Providing leadership in safety management including monitoring safety management performance targets. Responsible for incident event analysis and investigations including high potential events, developing recommendations and preparation of incident event presentations. Promoting and fostering positive labour relations by fair and equitable treatment of employees and application of Company policies and Collective Agreements.




Your qualifications include:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree. Membership in good standing (or eligible for registration) with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland & Labrador (P. Eng.). 5 years of experience in a utility environment. Experience working in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity is preferred. You have significant technical knowledge, are customer-focused and possess a broad knowledge of utility operating and safety procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a highly skilled and effective team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills that foster relationships within the industry as well as the community. You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license. You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety and customer service, an excellent work ethic, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
