Your Opportunity:Description:The Manager, Health Information Management (HIM), Red Deer is a key leadership role in HIM and reports directly to the Director, HIM - Central Zone. This position is accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of HIM in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services (AHS). The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of HIM. This position supports and promotes a psychologically safe, diverse and culturally sensitive work environment in alignment with AHS CARES values. This position also plays a key leadership role in the transformation and execution of technology enabled business processes or e-HIM\xc2\xae, transitioning and supporting site and zone-based practices to standardized provincial workflows within Connect Care and other 3rd party systems across AHS. Key areas of responsibility (not all inclusive) Ensuring appropriate processes and systems to capture accurate, complete and timely patient/client identification, registration and patient scheduling data. Ensuring integrity of patient/client, registration and patient scheduling data including remediation. Management of health information/records (regardless of medium) to ensure content compliance, completeness and availability for patient care, teaching, research, administrative and legal purposes. Ensuring complete collection of inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient data performed in compliance with provincial and national protocols through the use of standardized data collection tools. Development, maintenance, interpretation and application of data definitions, data standards and data collection guidelines.

Required Qualifications:A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. A minimum of bachelor\'s degree in health information management or other healthcare-related business degree. A minimum of 5 - 7 years supervisory or management experience in a Health Informatics/Health Information Management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity required. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.

Preferred Qualifications:Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Graduate of a Health Information Program recognized by the Canadian Health Information Management/Canadian College of Health Information Management with current credential status. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
